I CAN PUT THE PAINTBRUSHES AWAY! ORC WEEK 5

A hallway renovation showing a newly painted brown stairs, ready for a runner. The wall has a dado rail. Above the dado rail is painted white and below the dado rail is painted a warm, light greige.

What a crazy few weeks it’s been! The prep work took twice as long as I thought it would and it was touch or go whether the hallway painting would get finished before the carpet arrived! But we made it – I’m heading off for a a girlie few nights away and the carpet is coming Wednesday morning!

What did get painted?

Let’s do a little recap on what actually got painted this week – because trust me, it was a lot!

  • Wall below the dado rail x2 coats in Shell Cove by Colourtrend (Above the dado rail got painted last week)
  • Dado rail and skirting x2 coats. Both also in Shell Cove.
  • Upstairs interior doors and trim x5….yes 5 doors!! I painted them in All White by Farrow and Ball to match all of our downstairs doors. I also decided to paint the door thresholds. They were a stained wood that was really scratched up and dented. So I filled them, primed them and painted them to match the doors.
  • I also primed the front door, ready for painting next week!
  • Maybe most importantly, THE STAIRS GOT PAINTED in Porcino by Colourtrend. A gorgeous colour – I’m totally in love with it! You might have seen on my Instagram stories that it actually required three coats. That last coat was unexpected – I was up really early before leaving for the trip to get it finished!

As you can imagine, I’m glad the major hallway painting has pretty much come to an end – my arms can rest for now!!! 😂
