SANDING, FILLING AND MORE SANDING – ORC WEEK 2

A hallway and stairs in the middle of sanding prep.

A little hallway update for you! Week two of the hallway makeover is complete and I am still right in the middle of prep! I don’t want to count the amount of hours I’ve spent filling and sanding – the stairs and old trim are in such terrible shape. But there is light at the end of this prep tunnel and I’m hoping by next weekend, the painting will have begun!

The carpet was ordered during the week so ALL the painting needs to be finished by that intall…which is November 1st! EEKK, very exciting! Not only that, but the ceiling lights arrived and they are stunning!!!

A few tips..

There have been a few things that have kept me from getting too bored while sanding this week and I thought I’d share.

  • It seems obvious, but grab a pair of headphones and throw on some music or a podcast.
  • Put your phone on airplane mode or do not disturb. Every time you get a notification it stops the work!
  • If you can get someone to help you, all the better!
  • Take a proper break every 60-90mins. You need these, otherwise you’ll just start making mistakes.

If you have any more tips, comment below and let me know. I need all the help I can get for next week!!!
