WHAT GOT TICKED OFF THE LIST IN 2021

I love a good list. I have about 14 different ones on my phone and I swear, it brings me so much joy when I get to tick something off! For the last few years, I’ve created a dream to-do list in January and I love looking back to see how we did. I didn’t do everything that was on last year’s plan, (does anyone?), though two room reveals still wasn’t too bad! Let’s look at what we wished for and how we got on!

A Dining Room Reveal

Three hanging green cabinets with metal shelving placed above.

I’m delighted to say that this did get finished – woo hoo!! And I have to say, I absolutely adore every inch! This was part of the One Room Challenge and there were a lot of time consuming DIY projects, including an Ikea Besta hack, re-staining our kitchen table, upcycling our dining chairs and more. You can read all about it right here.

A Back Garden Reveal

Oh, how I wish I could say that our garden was finished!!! Planning it has been so difficult, especially because I overthink everything and want every choice to be perfect! My mantra this year is going to be ‘Done is better than perfect!’ I’m hoping this will hurry things on, so can you remind me when I forget?! 🙂 Anyway, we have a layout finished and to be fair, we have most of the decisions sorted, except the patio tiles. We can’t start anything until they are chosen. I’m looking for more of a beige tile than a grey and I’m finding it really tricky to find ones in my budget. The tiles are top priority this month so hoping to have a decision soon!

The Downstairs Bathroom

Another project not yet finished. But I have the mood board sorted and 99% of the design decisions have been made, which means the hardest part is done! The bathroom itself is so tiny, I think I could nearly get it finished in a weekend once we start!

Trevor’s Office/Music Room

This has been made more functional, but it still needs an update! It turns out Trevor has his own ideas for this room, I hate it when that happens! Ha, ha!! 🙂 I keep you updated on what he does!

Utility Room

A utility room painted wine walls and ceiling. A stripy blue and white window blind is shown and a boiler covered in tongue and groove cladding.

The other room reveal of the year! Our utility room is such a hardworking space, it’s so lovely to have it looking pretty a the same time! That DIY boiler cover nearly broke me, but it was so worth it! And using watered down acrylic paint to tone down the DIY pine shelves worked a dream. You can find out all about the utility room reveal right here!

So there you have it folks! There were lots of other little updates, like finding the perfect brass cabinet handles and getting great budget island stools. What was your favourite? Let’s hope next year is even more productive….Done is better than perfect remember!!!! Check back here on Thursday to see what’s on the list for 2022!
