SIMPLE HALLOWEEN DECOR ANYONE CAN DO!

A display of Halloween decor. Black greenery, candles and garlic bulbs with ghost faces drawn on them.

Growing up, we always decorated the house for Halloween and it’s something I continue to do even now. But I’ve got to say, in the last few years my taste has changed. I’m veering away from the wild and wacky decor, in favour of the simple. Let me show you some of the easiest, 5mins Halloween decor that anyone can try!

Simple Halloween Decor at Ours

Front porch with two wooden ghost and a pumpkin next to a potted tree.

So let’s start off with the decorations I have in my own house. I love these wooden ghosts, inspired my My Repurposed Life. We had a lot of scrap wood left over from the renovation, so I painted a few of them white and added the faces when dry. I was so lazy, I used a piece of a sponge to paint them to avoid the washup of paintbrushes. Worked like a charm though! So effective outside the front door with the pumpkins! The front door is still looking great after it’s little refresh last year, though you might not be able to tell as it’s been pouring rain here all day today!

A close up of the Halloween greenery. Black spray painted greenery interspersed with bare twigs in a dark green vase.

Black paint spray is your best friend when it comes to Halloween decor! I basically grabbed a few branches from trees outside and sprayed them black! I also added a few bare twigs to mix it up a little. They create the starting of a real eerrie atmosphere, but is it weird that I kinda love it? I might keep it on display for a while after Halloween I think!

Close up of the white candles with red melted wax dripping down the sides, as if blood.

Blood candles!! If you have any old red crayons around the place, than this is the perfect little project for you! Use a long neck lighter to melt the crayons over white candles, creating a blood dripping effect. Tip: Start at the very edge and do the drips along the side first. Then fill in the top of the candle.

I also drew some cute ghost faces on a couple of garlic bulbs, an idea I spotted here. Tip: If you need a bit of inspo for the faces search ‘cute ghost faces‘ on google. Seriously, could it get any easier?!
