MY FIRST BLOG-IVERSARY

A flatlay of an open book, cup of tea and a person's leg wearing an ugg slipper. All on top of a sheepskin rug.

Wow, I can’t believe it’s been a whole year since I started this blog and what a year it’s been! I have been featured on The Journal, nominated for an Amara Award for Best Use of Instagram, nominated for a House and Home Award for Best Interior Blogger and just this week my moodboard was chosen to design an inspirational space in The Paint Hub. It all sounds a little unbelievable to be honest!!

I had been wanting to start a blog for a few years, but was terrified of making a right fool out of myself! But finally, on the 1st November last year, I pressed ‘publish’ on my first post! I’m (stupidly!) still nervous if I find out that someone I know has started reading the blog, but it’s good to push yourself out of your comfort zone right?!

So here’s a quick look back on my top five favourite posts!

1. Planning and Assembling an Ikea Pax wardrobe

Week in and week out, this post is consistently my most popular! It’s a detailed, step-by-step guide on how to assemble an Ikea Pax wardrobe. It includes lots of helpful hints and tips that will hopefully avoid too much arguing with whatever victim you chose to help! 🙂

2. One Room Challenge – Guest Room Reveal

Yellow bedroom with palm leaf bedsheets and a white a black spotted blind.

One of the things I was most looking forward when starting the blog was to participate in the One Room Challenge. Myself and hundreds of other bloggers gave ourselves six weeks to completely transform a room. This challenge happens twice yearly and it’s something I’m definitely going to try again. I was never more productive…remember when I actually BUILT A BED??!! Click here to check out where this room began!

3. Painting a laminate wardrobe

A mirror hanging on the left. On the right, a dusty pink wardrobe with a marble shelf holding fairy lights, a plant and jewellery.

It’s a bit of a grainy photo, but it still remains one of the most popular posts! There was a time when I wasn’t going to bother painting this wardrobe, but I’m SO GLAD I changed my mind! I love the dusty pink colour, the DIY marble shelf and of course those gorge gold handles that are so much cheaper than you’d think!

4. Our DIY bedside tables

A grey and marble bedside table on four legs. A marble drawer with a dark leather pull.

This was one of those projects that turned out way better than I expected! I spent so long trying to find the ideal, affordable bedside table. But it just wasn’t to be found. So I decided to DIY a pair instead! Click here for all the links and info. It really was the simplest project!

5. DIY Vase Lamp

A green glass lamp with a white drum lampshade.

I laugh at some of the photography in my earlier posts. If nothing else, at least I know I gained a few camera skills this year anyway! Here is one of my favourite projects where I basically turned a vase into a lamp!

Don’t forget to let me know if there’s anything you’d like to see here on the blog. Thank you so much for reading and following along…I appreciate each and every view! Here’s to another wonderful year!! xx
