MONTHLY MOOD BOARD – OUR ONE ROOM CHALLENGE LIVING ROOM EDITION!

One room challenge living room mood board, with a grey and cream sofa, multi-coloured rugs, a brass round mirror and a walnut coffee table.

I swore last year I would never do the One Room Challenge again….it was so hard!!!😂(When I look back on it, I did do a lot in just a few weeks!) But here I am again, itching to get the living room finished before Xmas and I just know that doing the One Room Challenge will keep me on track! I am so excited to get this done!!!

So let’s take a look at this mood board. I’ve spent the last few weeks furiously ordering as much as possible in advance, so that it will all be here for the big reveal November 16th. I have spent an obscene amount of time looking for the perfect rug and I still haven’t decided, so I’m going to enlist your help! I’ve narrowed it down to three and you can see them in the top photo. I know they are ALL gorgeous…but which one would you pick?

Rug Options

  1. The black and white one…this one looks so fluffy!
  2. The colour block beige and copper one…simple, but fab.
  3. Or the colour explosion one which would be so much fun, but would it be too much?
  4. I’m sneaking a fourth option in here, because it’s too gorgeous not to!

The funny thing is, I ended up with two rugs that I have already used in my Monthly Mood Boards! You can see them here and here! I need to just shop my own mood boards from now on! 🙂

Over the next eights weeks, there will be shelves and storage installed on either side of the fireplace, a new two seater couch arriving, an update on a current cabinet and so much more! For now, here are the links to everything I want right now!

  • Curtains – I’m gutted because these curtains aren’t in stock in the right length for me. I’m actually thinking now of trying to recreate them somehow…stay tuned!
  • Two seater couch – This couch belongs to my sister, but it isn’t the right size for them. So it’s being passed along to me! I’m thrilled, because I had been looking for a white couch that was dog and stain friendly and this looks to be the one!
  • Tall lamp – This one looks adjustable, which is handy because Trevor hates the glare from the current lamp. With this one, he can just move the light to suit!
  • Round mirror – this brass one has good reviews on Amazon. I haven’t bought it yet, as I’m undecided between black and brass (shock of shocks!!).
  • Coffee table – I have ordered this and it’s on the way! Love that it’s a veneer and the darker wood breaks up all the light from the floor and dining table.
  • Ceiling light – This is not going to be turned on much, so what it looks like tuned off is really important.

So each week, I’ll be giving you a new update on the living room! If you want more inspo, you can see all the other participants and designers that are giving the One Room Challenge a go. Some of the mood boards look absolutely amazing!
