Master Bedroom Artwork

Blush pink walls and two large rectangular prints of palm trees hanging above a cream wooden bed.

Well I’m not going to lie, I fell down a very deep rabbit hole finding bedroom artwork. I loved the look of two rectangular shaped pieces hanging over our bed. If you give a look at my moodboard here you’ll see the most amazing print from Desenio that I spotted yonks ago. It was pretty much the inspiration for the blush pink walls, so I knew I had at least one picture sorted. Wrong!!

Trial and Error

I was gutted when looking for a matching partner, the only prints that would looked well with the Pink Sky were typography prints. It wasn’t my first choice but I did like Breathe with it (see above). Unfortunately my husband completely veto-ed any wordy ones and I guess I did have to admit it was his room too, so it was back to the drawing board!!

There were so many beautiful prints on Desenio.com, you could spend hours going through them – I did! 🙂 One section of the website I thought was ingenious is Perfect Pair. Here you can find loads of prints already paired up, that work very well together, so you don’t even have to try to find matching ones yourself if you fancy being lazy! Here are some really gorgeous ones I loved…

The Jackpot

But alas, I didn’t find my perfect prints here so I turned my eye to Etsy. Another rabbit hole! And there were so many pretty ones here too!!!

And above you can see in the middle, the most beautiful pair of prints!!!!!! I’m absolutely mad about them and I now have an anchor in the room from which I can draw colour from. Woo hoo!!!! It always makes it a bit easier to add decor when you have something to match it to.

Framing our Bedroom Artwork

The last hurdle was to get frames – 50cm x 70cm with a white mount. I knew I wanted very slim black frames but this proved pretty difficult to find for a reasonable price. I certainly didn’t want to go down the route of custom made! Thankfully an Irish company Premier Frames was able to help me out. Delivery was very quick and the frames were well packaged. If you’re not living in Ireland, I’m almost certain this frame on Amazon is the exact same one. It’s not actually glass, but plastic. You might think this is a bad thing but in fact it means the frames are very lightweight – perfect for over a bed (on the off chance that they ever fell down) and honestly, it looks exactly the same as glass.

Hanging them was very easy, though I did have to be careful to make sure they were exactly level with one other. One more thing – don’t forget to use masking tape to stick the print to the frame mount. This will ensure the print stays exactly where you want it to! Have you any fave art pieces in your home??
