FINALLY FOUND OUR BRASS CABINET HANDLES!

Our kitchen cabinet handles were the bane of my life for months!! For all the drawers, I wanted small brass cabinet handles with a very specific shape. The inspo for them was in Studio McGee’s kitchen but I found them so difficult to find within our budget. The lower budget shops in Ireland and the UK have not embraced brass yet!

Our Handles

Eventually, I found my treasure here in the Handle Studio. The ball style is exactly what I wanted and the 30mm was the perfect size for us!

For the fridge, freezer and pantry we have these Bauhaus cabinet pulls. I love that clothing cannot get caught on the outside of these handles if you’re walking close by. Sometimes that can happen with T-bar handles and I had to be careful, as this area is a main walkway. I’d highly recommend that site actually as it was always the cheapest and delivery, customer service etc was excellent. In the end though, I did ask my local handle shop to source these for me as I wanted to support local on at least some of the handles!

Originally, I wanted cup handles for the bins and dishwasher. I really liked the idea of mixing handle styles and my aim was to have three different ones, all polished brass. After much overthinking (you know me!) I bought these. Loved the modern style and the fact that you can’t see any screws. However, when they arrived the colour of the brass was a different tone to the other handles and they just didn’t look right together. So I just ordered shorter versions of the other pull handles instead. Thankfully, I still love the result! What do you think?

The Unexpected Handles

I have one more set of handles to show you. On the island, near the barstools are two cabinets. As this is the main walkway to the garden, I wanted the cabinets to hide away and let the focus be on the tall white cabinets opposite. So I bought these black edge pulls. I’m still not 100% sure how I feel about mixing two different colour handles, as well as two different styles – the edge pulls are modern, while the rest of handles are more traditional. But I went with them as they were cheap as chips, plus they are attached from inside the cabinets. It would be so easy to change them out in the future if I want to!

If you’re currently looking for brass cabinet handles, I feel your pain. In the end it took me six months to get them sorted!!! We had ducktape handles for that whole time and I have to say, I was pretty impressed with them! 🙂 You can see more about how we assembled our Ikea kitchen here and here!

A Few Other Options…

Below, I’ve rounded up a few other handles that caught my eye during the search. If these don’t suit, I’d recommend searching on Handles4u, Wayfair and Etsy. I wish I could give Irish websites. EM Hardware was about the only one I could see that had a little. Hopefully you might find what you’re looking for!
